Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information TrueSlug collects and how it is used. The short version: we collect as little as possible, your plugin data never leaves your own website, and we never sell data.

The TrueSlug website (trueslug.com)

• Email signups. If you join our waitlist or newsletter, we store your email address with our email provider (Brevo). We use it only to send you TrueSlug updates you asked for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
• Standard web logs. Our hosting (Cloudflare) keeps routine security logs. We don't run advertising trackers on this site.

The TrueSlug plugin (privacy-first by design)

• Your data stays on your site. All click data the plugin records — URLs, timestamps, referrers, device types — is stored in your own WordPress database. It is never sent to us or to any third party.
• IP addresses are hashed. We store a one-way hash of IP addresses, never the raw address, so visitor identities can't be reconstructed.
• No external tracking. The plugin makes no analytics, advertising or telemetry calls of its own. The only external service it talks to is your license provider (Freemius) for license activation and updates — see below.

Payments and licensing (Freemius)

Pro purchases are processed by Freemius as our payment processor and merchant of record. When you buy or activate a license, Freemius processes your payment details and license data under its own privacy policy. We receive your order details (name, email, plan) to provide support.

Emails

Product emails are sent through Brevo. Transactional purchase emails are sent by Freemius. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time; operational emails (receipts, license, security) are part of the service.

Your rights (GDPR & similar)

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data at any time — email privacy@trueslug.com. If you are a plugin user (not a customer), your click data lives on the website you visited: contact that site's owner, since they are the data controller.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and announce it on this page (and by email to subscribers for significant changes).
